Gang graffiti becoming a nuisance for Culpeper

For the second time in less than two weeks, vandals have spray painted gang markings on the town Light and Power facility on East Chandler Street.

Gang graffiti was also discovered Monday morning on the Depot on Commerce Street, the Wine Street Memorial Park sign, a police car parked on Wine Street and two private trailers in the 300 block of East Chandler.

Police suspect the graffiti occurred overnight Monday and are investigating leads, said Capt. Rick Pinksaw with the Culpeper Police Department.

Town Councilman Steve Jenkins called the Star-Exponent Monday morning to report the vandalism, blaming the gang graffiti on a particular segment of the local population.
