I think that the Latino Lobby reflects a distortion of values visible also in the Black and Jewish organizations.

When LULAC was democratic and represented Mexican American workers it was for immigration enforcement not open borders.

When control went to business owners they wanted to keep the cost of labor low. They pushed the advocacy organizations in the direction of supporting an amnesty and non-enforcement.

A member making 10,000 and in fear of competition might give sy a hundred dollars. A business owner with a 100,000 income can more easily give these advocacy organizations more than $1000.

This creates a dynamic in which the interest of the millionaire is supported by the organization over the interests of their own working poor.
