More Latinos leaving Catholicism for evangelical Protestantism

In immigrant communities across the United States, a battle is being waged for the souls of Latinos - and a distinctly American style of worship is beginning to take hold.

According to a landmark study, as many as 600,000 Latinos in this country leave the Catholic Church every year in favor of Protestant evangelical churches.

Furthermore, of the approximately 30 percent of Latinos nationwide who identify themselves as non-Catholic, the vast majority are affiliated with an evangelical or “born-againâ€

It appears that the Catholic Church, just like the Republican Party, may have "misunderestimated" the latinos alligence to them.

Things will get real exciting around here once they discover Islam.

For a real eyeopener do a google search under Hispanic Muslims. They are converting by the thousands. There are now 13 mosques and Islamic schools in Mexico and several Hispanic Mosques in the US.


Has anyone else noticed that when the illegals rally there is always some burka clad folks there??

There is a mosque in this city that has more hispanics than any other group.

I guess the catholic church ran out of funds to support them all.

But, keep one thing in mind. The MOORS, who are the Arabs, overtook Spain, which inspired King Richard to lead the Crusade. Many Spaniards are, by blood, moslems. Those same people came on ships to the "new world" and whipped entire civilizations into submission, eliminating some civilizations entirely. Is history about to come a full circle?
