More than 5 Tons of Drugs Seized Over the Weekend Across Rio Grande Valley

Drugs Total Upwards of $8 Million

Edinburg, Texas — The U.S. Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector nabbed 10,374 pounds of marijuana over the weekend.

Beginning Friday and ending Sunday agents made multiple seizures of marijuana valued at more than $8 million. The seizures occurred across the Rio Grande Valley from Brownsville to Rio Grande City and north to the Falfurrias and Kingsville Border Patrol checkpoints and were unrelated.
