KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Fishermen rescued more than 60 Haitian migrants and towed their overloaded boats to Jamaica's east coast on Tuesday, authorities said.

Information Minister Daryl Vaz said it was too early to say whether the Haitians would be repatriated or housed at shelters.

He said the first boat arrived at 4 a.m. and another at 8:30 a.m.

An estimated 230,000 people died when a magnitude-7 earthquake struck Haiti on Jan. 12. Another 1.3 million survivors were left homeless.
