SOUTHAVEN, MS - (WMC-TV) – Police are trying to track down a hit and run driver who critically injured a man and may be running with a stolen identity.

Southaven police are looking for a man who goes by the name Wilfredison Ramos Veles.

According to police, Veles hit 30-year-old Chad Weaver while Weaver was riding his motorcycle to work.

It happened around six o'clock Friday morning when the car Veles was driving cut in front of Weaver.

The crash happened on Goodman Road's I-55 overpass.
Investigators say Veles jumped out of the car and ran off, leaving Weaver injured in the middle of the road.

"He had some lacerations to his face, broken pelvis, one broken arm, a ruptured spleen," said Lt. Mark Little, Southaven Police Department.
Little believes Veles is an illegal immigrant who may be using a fake name.

"When people come here to work they can go to certain locations and purchase fake ID's and Social Security cards so they can go to work," he said.

Authorities also think Veles may have gone back to Mexico.
"We will definitely put it out there where if he comes back into the country or tries to leave the country, or goes to another location within the country, we might locate him that way," Little said.

If you know anything that could help solve this case, call Southaven police at 662-393-8652.
