Murder Suspect Returned To Mexico

POSTED: 7:57 p.m. MST November 21, 2005

A wanted murder suspect is back behind bars in Mexico after being found in the United States.

Monday Jorge Fernandez, also known as "El Chocolate," was walked over the Stanton Street Bridge with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to face Mexican authorities.

The young man allegedly tried to shoot three men, one of whom died after an argument at a party.

"This individual is a member of the Nortenas Qatorce gang, which is a notorious violent street gang. He is now back in his home country in Mexico, the Mexican authorities are glad to have him back to bring him to justice and of course ICE is certainly glad to have been able to remove him from our country," said Leticia Zamarripa with ICE.

This is the 17th fugitive El Paso ICE agents have returned to Mexico this year.
