Will Senate Bill 1070 be squashed?
Will Senate Bill 1070 be squashed?
The big question in Arizona today: will she or won’t she?
Will U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton block Senate Bill 1070 from taking effect next week until she can hear arguments on the issues in contention? Or will she let it go into effect as scheduled on July 29?
As I understand the purpose of a preliminary injuction, it’s to prevent the harm that would take place should the law go into effect. You don’t get an injunction just because you fear something will happen. You have to be able to prove it, along with demonstrating that you will likely prevail on the merits of the case.
The feds, in asking that the law be blocked from going into effect, say S.B. 1070 is already causing “irreparable harm to the United States and this harm will only be magnified if the law goes into effect.â€NO AMNESTY

Mexico (and the six other countries that are asking to join in their amicus brief) have no peculiar interest that any other country would not have. So does this mean the end of sovereignty, and that any country's localized enforcement of immigration law is null and void?
How does any assistance of the enforcement of federal law create "harm." Perhaps if it got into classified information, but generally our federal agencies will welcome any additional help, if it is done in a constitutionally acceptable manner. The law is superior to executive policy. The federal government at the least, would have to establish a history of financial harm, which they can't do prior to the law taking effect and perhaps not for a few years after that. And any added burden to DHS expenses could be offset by savings to other federal departments, such as DOJ.
The "negative foreign policy" interests are a round-about way of saying that other countries have financial reasons to object to US immigration law. That's their problem. We are already providing them monetary assistance, anyway."Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

As I have stated before, it will be the issue of "Interstate Commerce" that is the kicker that will get the law overturned. this way the judge and everyone else avoids ANY Racial issues!
