Candidate wants local support to keep illegal immigrants out of community colleges

BURGAW – Seeking support at the local level, District 8 state Senate hopeful Betty Fennell has asked the Pender County commissioners to support a resolution that would oppose illegal immigrants’ admittance into community college.

Fennell, who is a Republican, said the issue was an economic one, not a partisan issue.
