    GASTONIA -- A Gaston County immigration law may be in trouble, after a Pennsylvania ruling has thrown some local legislation into question.



    Less than a year ago, the Gaston Board of Commissioners passed a resolution, saying they would not hire companies that knowingly employ illegal immigrants to work on county projects, wanting to make a statement that the county wasn’t going to tolerate it, said county commissioner Carpenter.



    And after city officials passed a similar ordinance in Hazleton, Pa, a federal judge ruled the act as illegal.



    “I would go so far as to say that this decision is the paradigm of judicial activism because in several respects, the judge places himself in the shoes of Congress and says this is what I think federal law should mean,â€

    Yep, you got it longcut. If one path is blocked its time to find another. Might as well use the one the government gave us.

    That has no effect on them whatsoever. The county can contract with whom they please, since they are no fines or penalities involved. The State of TN and Nashville govt. both have the same regulation.
