(New from Paul Jurgens, KFGO, Fargo) FARGO, N.D. (AP) Authorities say 26 suspected illegal aliens were turned over to Border Patrol after a random check of roofers in Fargo today.

Assistant Attorney General Parrell (PAYR'-ul) Grossman was leading a team of investigators. They were checking for transient merchants licenses and workers compensation and unemployment insurance.

Homeowner George Calkins says he hopes his roof work will be completed. Grossman says authorities are not interested in stopping the work.

The Border Patrol is checking the status of many of the workers.

Grossman says several out-of-state contractors have Fargo addresses and phone numbers to make it appear that they're local companies.
