Illegal immigrant sentenced to 364 days in jail for having sex with minor

MORRIS COUNTY — A 26-year-old who professes to love the young woman he impregnated when she was just 15 was sentenced Friday to 364 days in the Morris County Jail on his guilty plea to criminal sexual contact.

An illegal alien from Guatemala, Rolando Perez-Vincente was caught on August 29 hiding in the bedroom closet of a then-15-year-old girl, who lived with her parents in Morristown.

The teenager and Perez-Vincente at first advised police they were not involved in a sexual relationship but an examination of the girl at Morristown Memorial Hospital revealed she was pregnant, an arrest affidavit said.

The girl, now 16, gave birth to Perez-Vincente's son 2 1/2 months ago and says she loves the man she met through church.

Speaking in Spanish, the girl's father told Superior Court Judge David Ironson that he at first disapproved of the relationship but now he doesn't want Perez-Vincente to go to jail because the defendant and his daughter love each other.

Perez-Vincente pleaded guilty earlier this year to the fourth-degree charge of criminal sexual contact and must register upon release from jail as a sexual offender under Megan's Law. But defense lawyer Michael Fletcher said federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials have a detainer on the defendant and he is likely to be deported to his native Guatemala.

In New Jersey, a person must be at least 16 years of age to legally consent to having sex with a person who is four years or more older. The girl had told authorities she started having sex with Perez-Vincente when she was just 14, the arrest affidavit said.

Are you F-ing kidding me!! Deport them all!! They are all probably illegal and the two and a half month old is just another anchor.

Let's see now, we are to accept statutory rape and forgive it if the perpetrator is an illegal alien? Exactly what crimes are okay to charge these "people who just come here to work"? It seems as though breaking into our country, identity theft, driving drunk and without licenses, etc. etc. are just not enough justification for sentencing and deportation (if you are illegal).

I can't even see why we are wasting our time and tax money on them, just deport them all back to the mother country.

More third-world values on display for all to witness. My guess is the whole bunch of them are illegal invaders. As dramaofmylife stated, just deport them all and let their rightful countries of citizenship deal with it!

Typical of NJ. Is why I left that state. They have the death penalty but you die of old age before execution. The set tough penalties for crimes but give out slaps on the wrist instead. The whole family needs to be checked for documentation and if proven to be illegal deport them andlet motherland deal with their domestic problems. Get them off the taxpayers teat.

Oh patty...that was funny!! What child support payments? Don't you know they breed em, they don't actually pay to support them. That's our job, the American tax payer, through generous welfare, WIC, food stamps, section 8 and cash assistance awards!

In other words, you and I will be supporting this anchor baby for the next 18 years, while the deadbeat father is making more babies, wherever he happens to end up!

He's from Guatemala, not Mexico. Not all illegal aliens come from Mexico.
