Wildwood Police charge man with sexual assault of minor

Wildwood resident, 26-year-old Juan Nieves-Barrios,
was charged with aggravated sexual assault by
Wildwood Police.

 WILDWOOD – The Wildwood Police have charged a 26-year-old man with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old.


On Monday March 14, the Wildwood Police Department Uniform Patrol Division handled the report of the sexual assault.
A follow-up investigation by Wildwood Police Detective Division led to the arrest of 26-year-old Juan Nieves-Barrios,
said a press release from the Wildwood Police Department.


According to the statement, Nieves-Barrios is a resident of Wildwood and a dishwasher at a local restaurant.


During the investigation, police say they found items identified as having “evidential value” in connection with the
assault after searching Nieves-Barrios’ home.


Nieves-Barrios has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, a second degree crime, and endangering the welfare
of a child, a crime of the third degree. Nieves-Barrios bail was set by Superior Court Judge John Porto at $175,000 with
no cash bond.


He was unable to post bail and is currently in the county jail.
