Driver Falls Asleep On Highway, Two People Killed
HURRICANE - A pickup carrying eight people rolled Thursday when the driver apparently fell asleep, killing two people and injuring the six others, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Six of the passengers in the Ford F-150 were believed to Guatemalan nationals who were in the country illegally, Trooper Randall Akers said. A 27-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman died at the scene, troopers said.

The driver and a passenger had Nevada identification. Federal immigration officials were investigating whether the they were also illegal immigrants.

The truck was westbound on Utah 59 between Hurricane and Hildale when the rollover happened about 8 a.m.

The six survivors had minor to moderate injuries, UHP said.
