    UPDATE: Undocumented workers detained in Corning
    Staff report • January 23, 2009

    Eight undocumented workers were detained Thursday in Corning after police received a tip from code enforcement officials.


    At approximately 2 p.m. Thursday, the Corning Police Department detained the workers, who were employees of a subcontractor working on a renovation project in the Noah’s Ark building, 91 E. Market St. A section of Market Street from 91 to 99 E. Market St. is undergoing a multi-phase renovation and building update project, according to the Corning’s Gaffer District.

    So why isn't all local government inspectors of code in buildings, food, licenses, and etc. reporting the illegals to ICE and DHS?

    White men not doing this construction?

    After identifying the workers, Corning police officials said they were released by order of federal authorities
