Yuma BP agents seize cash in Blythe

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Blythe Station recently seized more than $40,000 in cash that was suspected to be connected to drug trafficking.

Agent Michael Lowrie, a spokesman for the Yuma Sector, said that agents stopped a rented 2010 Hyundai Sonata at approximately 2:10 a.m. early Sunday morning on Interstate 10 near Blythe, Cali.

Lowrie said that during the vehicle stop a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs concealed within the vehicle.

Agents searched the vehicle, Lowrie said, and found one marijuana “jointâ€
