Victim Was Among Several Immigrants Who Ran From Frio County Law Enforcement

SAN ANTONIO -- An illegal immigrant was hit and killed by an ambulance early Tuesday in Frio County.

Sheriff's officials said the immigrant was among four people who ran from law enforcement authorities north of Dilly.

The group was in a vehicle that led a deputy on a high-speed chase on Interstate 35 at around 5 a.m. when the vehicle stopped.

Seven people ran out of the vehicle but three stopped on orders by law enforcement officials.

The other four kept running and that's when one of them was hit by the ambulance.

There was no word on whether anyone else was injured.

I'm sure their relatives as well as their country of origin will be given millions of dollars to compensate for the inconvenience.

HAH! Sorry, but I feel not one whit of empathy for these criminals. Undoubtedly, some of these folks came from some village where their "ambulance" service was a mule.
With apologies for the meanness, but it is better than "Illegals involved in high speed chase kill American citizen."

There were 10 people in one vehicle. I'm sure they were smugglers.

My mother taught me not to play in the street and to look both ways before crossing. Shouldn't have been running from law enforcement either.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone that does so much wrong and ends up getting killed in the process. People that risk their lives, often die.
