Also Ruben, we are sick of driving through whole towns (American towns) and the signs on every building are in Spanish and the language is predominately Spanish.....as reported on Lou Dobbs today!
You really need to get out more Ruben if you are going to discuss this subject or maybe watch Lou!Please support ALIPAC's fight to save American Jobs & Lives from illegal immigration by joining our free Activists E-Mail Alerts (CLICK HERE)

I agree totally with what Miguelina posted.
However, I disagree with the attitude that it isn't okay for these children thanking their parents in their native tongues. If they wish to do so, maybe the flyers given out at graduations could show the text in both English and the native tongue spoken.
I personally could never ever fault a child for giving this gratitude to a parent.

This issue isn't about some kids uttering a few lines in a foreign language at a graduation ceremony.
Rather, this is about Ruben hijacking this issue in order to further his ethno-centric agenda where he can continue to defend his quest for the preferential treatment of hispanics while they refuse to assimilate linguistically into mainstream society. His argument appears to the layman to be somewhat more convincing when he can find a case of perceived bias against someone other than a hispanic. This was that story.
You think Ruben cares about a Vietnamese, high school student giving a graduation speech somewhere in Louisiana? Sure he does.
And this:
Here's what I don't like. I don't like it when busybody officials think that because they don't like something, they have to outlaw it. I don't like that language has become a proxy for the immigration debate and the anxiety that some people feel over a changing cultural landscape.
