ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP)—
A Union County man has been arrested for delivering 3.5 kilograms of cocaine to Rowan County on Tuesday, according to deputies.

Luis Alberto Castrejon Valencia, 32, of Wingate, was allegedly trying to deliver the drugs to the Salisbury area. He was arrested after officers searched his car.

Deputies said they received information that a large cocaine shipment was coming into the county and Valencia was identified as a suspect.

A search of Valencia's home at 202 Dianne St. was also conducted and officials found two firearms, with one reported stolen. It was also determined that Valencia was in the U.S. illegally.

He received a $400,000 bond. Further details on the case were not provided. 3.5 kilograms is equal to about 7.7 pounds.
