NC: High incidence of TB from foreign born
Gee, do you think that the high rate of TB in this county in NC has ANYTHING to do with the high numbers of UNCHECKED ILLEGAL ALIENS that have invaded the area at the invitation of the profiteers of illegal immigration? Every sleazeball employer who hires them is directly responsible for putting the safety, health and welfare of his/her other employees, and the community at risk. Shameful. Deport them all. Prosecute the employers. Ya es hora!

ASHEVILLE — Buncombe County health officials are monitoring for new cases of tuberculosis after 14 people tested positive for the disease last year.
The health department has identified three possible cases of tuberculosis since December, but said they are unrelated to last year’s cases, which occurred in a cluster of people living and working in close contact to each other.

She said it is hard to know whether there is an actual increase in the number of people with the disease or if the high numbers are a result of increased reporting and surveillance.
Increasing surveillance
With a goal of eradicating tuberculosis by 2010, health departments are focusing on increasing surveillance across the state.
“I think some of it has to do with the level of investigation and the time put into this,â€
