RALEIGH - Police have charged 11 people with what they call a gang-involved kidnapping.
Investigators say Jose Humberto Espinoza Eguia, 26, was taken from an apartment complex parking lot near his home at 4904-B Coolridge Court about 1 a.m. Jan. 22. Police, who say they were not notified until Jan. 25, announced the arrests Wednesday.
Police say the abduction was not a random act, though Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue would not discuss a motive or whether Eguia and the suspects belonged to rival gangs. Sughrue declined to identify the gang with which the suspects are affiliated.
"The case is still under investigation," he said.
Police and the U.S. Marshals' violent fugitive task force contacted the Johnston County Sheriff's Office after learning that Eguia was being held at 180 Enchanted Trail in Clayton. Eguia was rescued Friday afternoon by Marshals and the Raleigh police fugitive squad, police reported. He was not hurt.
Police detained nine suspects while rescuing Eguia. A short time later, two more were detained in the immediate area.
Six were charged as adults, and five boys under age 16 were placed under secure custody orders in connection with the kidnapping, police reported.
Federico Lopez Martinez, 27; Luis Javier Trujillo, 22; Ricardo Nava Gonzalez, 26; Valeria Limor Brito, 17; Jose Luis Angel Centeno, 18, and Brian Josue Mayes-Paz, 19, were all charged with first-degree kidnapping, according to police.
Police listed Centeno's address as 3910 Hylton Drive in Raleigh. Arrest warrants indicate Mayes-Paz lives at 4615 Nesbit Court. The addresses for the other suspects are listed as "Anywhere, Raleigh" or "Anywhere, USA" on arrest warrants.
Police also charged Trujillo with statutory rape. Mayes-Paz was also charged with possession of cocaine, according to police.
Trujillo, Centeno, Brito, Gonzalez, Martinez and Mayes-Paz are all in custody at the Wake County jail in lieu of $1 million bail, court records show.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Well isn't this just special. The N&O really scooped this one. I'm not seeing it on any other local sources.

AHWWWWW Poor migrants. All this is scaring them, and will lead to mistrust of police. This must be viewed in the proper light of the culture of their homeland where kidnapping is really no big deal. Look at these people, surely there was profiling. Let them go in washington D.C.

These pictures look familiar.
Of course, I can not profile by race, can I.
They all look like the renters and maintenance staff
at my apt. complex.
What a nice culture we are importing.
USA has spent...what, a couple of hundred years
working on laws and enforcing them....
Only to let in a whole culture that has never had
to follow the rules.
I wonder how hard it is going to be for me to
re-train myself and convince my grown children, that,
hey, there ain't no rules anymore. Just don't speak
English, carry an ID or a SS card. If you get caught for
any crime, they will send you across the border.
BUT hey, just come back over. No one will care.

Oops,
Anywhere, USA....what a great address.
Next time I get acosted by a police officer,
"I live in Anywhere(I want), USA".
Better hide my SS card.
