For the second time this month, Frederick city residents will have a chance to hear about an immigration enforcement program being implemented by Frederick County Sheriff Charles Jenkins.
The 287(g) initiative gives local law enforcement the power to begin deportation procedures for law-breaking illegal immigrants.

Twenty-six sheriff's deputies and correction officers have been given the training and authority to enforce federal immigration laws.

The talk, sponsored by Neighborhood Advisory Council 5, is at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn on U.S. 40 at Baughman's Lane. Seating is limited to 75 people
