NC: Woman working in area mill charged with using false ID

    May 16, 2008 - 9:19AM
    Times-News
A woman was charged Thursday with using a false identity to get a job at a local mill.

Burlington police started investigating Maribel A. Aguirre after Holt Hosiery Mills in Burlington contacted them when they found suspicious information in an employment application, Cpl. D.W. Turner said.

Aguirre had been working at the mill under a different name, Jeannette Deavila, through a staffing agency, Turner said. When the company decided to hire her directly, they found that certain information in her file did not add up.

According to the information Aguirre had provided, she was supposed to be 28 years old. Turner said the woman, who is in fact in her 40s, had mentioned she had an 18-year-old daughter, which would mean she had her when she was 10 years old.

Turner said Aguirre told police she was from Mexico and could not get a job using her real name and that's why she had bought the false identity. Turner said he is currently investigating the source of the false documents. He said he couldn't release the name of the staffing company that had placed Aguirre at the mill because it was part of the investigation.

Aguirre was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and put in the Alamance County jail under a $500 bond. Turner said he didn't know if Aguirre had been processed through the 287 (g) program but said that there's "a good chance" that she will be processed for deportation.

Is that three in in the last few weeks? Guess the sympathizers will be making excuses for her now! Like the old Johnny Cash song, "one piece at a time". Who knows maybe a siphoning effect will begin!

Carowinds won't let you in without a ticket, the movie theater won't either. If you are found on a boat, plane, train, etc., you are either thrown off or arrested. If UPS, the US mail, Fedex and the IRS can find the number of people they do, we could deport a number enough to make a difference. Perfection is not required, but a concerted effort is! Maybe FOX could start a program called AMERICA'S MOST UNWANTED!

Once again an illegal immigrant is taking a job away from someone who is here legally. I hope there are many more instances being found than reported in the paper. I wonder if she had actually stolen someone's identity, or if this was just a "made up one?"

This is not the first time that this has happened. I worked for a temp agency and I know that there were alot of hispanics that would come in with the name such as John Roberts or Melissa Jones but could speak a lick of english. And the agency that I worked with thought it was ok because they were focus on the money they could make not INS.

Only $500 bond for identify theft? That's ridiculous.

They should give everything she has to Jeannette Deavila and send her back to Mexico.

That sure wasn't the case for some guy in Minn. I think. Of course he was a citizen......used a fake identity because of a crime he committed as a youth and needed a second chance. Never committed another crime since and he's looking at years behind bars. They caught him with a no-match SS check.

Typical third-world invader mindset. No morals when it comes to identity theft and fraud.

Hey, remember that 10-yr-old girl in Idaho that gave birth, impregnated by her illegal alien Latino father? Maybe it is true for illegals
