An illegal immigrant from Mexico was taken into custody Friday after the vehicle he was in was pulled over for allegedly speeding near Gladstone, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Jose Antonio Guerrero-Reyes, 32, is now in custody and awaiting U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, said Capt. Fern Moser.

“He did not have any papers to be in the U.S. legally,” Moser said. “He was with his dad and his dad did have a visa to be in the United States.”

Spokesmen for ICE would not comment Monday afternoon.
