Cities and states that are trying to work out their own solutions to illegal immigration are not making constructive changes and are slowing efforts in fixing what is a federal problem, a national immigrant-rights advocate said.

Legislation aimed at curbing illegal immigration, whether on the state or local level, has instead amounted to costly legal battles and divided communities, said Lucas Guttentag, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, in an interview with The Associated Press.

“They’ve diverted attention from addressing real problems, so I don’t think they’ve helped at all. In fact, I think they’ve hurt. They’ve caused people to focus on the wrong issue,â€

Are these people for real or what? How does having illegal aliens here help schools, the job market or the economy? So what if the modern slave masters had to hire US citizens pay more for labor and obey the labor laws.So what if the illegal aliens had to back to their countries? Do the Grattentags of the world think the citizens of the US are that dumb? It wont be that long before "We the people" take care of those who want to destroy the American way of life... Grattentag needs to be tar and feathered in the town square in a clown suit!

The message being sent to DC is we want our immigration laws enforced...we want illegals to gain nothing from entering this country illegally...it has to stop this time...no more amnestys no more messages that you can come here and get away with it!!
