To prepare for potential confrontation against armed gunmen, the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department recently purchased about 100 AR-15 assault rifles to be carried by deputies in their patrol cars.

They still are outgunned by drug cartels, the Zetas, MS-13 (all US government employees???) using bazookas, grenade and rocket launchers, 50 cal machine guns and other high powered weapons. Assault weapons don't mean a damn thing.
There is no freedom without the law. Remember our veterans whose sacrifices allow us to live in freedom.

Another reporter who doesn't know what an assault rifle is. An assault rifle has the capability of firing fully automatic. The AR-15 can only fire semi-automatic. The AR-15 is essentially an M-16 modified so that it no longer is an assault rifle under the law.
