Illegal Immigration Is A "Bone" Of Contention In Several Ways

There is more to the story of illegal immigrants working in Nebraska than meets our collective eyes. Perhaps that is the problem.

Lawmakers heard testimony Wednesday on legislation that would require employers to use the federal E-verify system to check on the resident status of workers, after they are hired. It would take effect in 2011.

The proposal brought an overflow crowd to the hearing on Sen. Brad Ashford’s LB34. Representatives of immigrant workers opposed the plan.

The debate over workers in the country illegally centers greatly a few industries – meatpacking and restaurants and construction and agriculture.

Ashford said the failure of Congress to take any effective action involving illegal immigrants has created “a permanent underclassâ€

2011 Sheez don't want to rush into anything do they? this tells me they are not very serious, so the amount of Americans out of work in Neb. means nothing to these people....another joke on Americans!

It's almost like they got the citizens between a rock and a hard place. We know we have rights, whats proper and not proper.....but if you say or report anything, consider yourself out of a job. Have the employers be able to hire illegals, or even those who are placed there as refugees and you barely know your rights and are unlikely to complain. Have enough of them and you never know what's going on anymore.....have a crew of illegals and who knows what abuse might occur. It seems for every law there's a way around it, to where none mean anything anymore. Darn straight they made you work when you were sick.......haven't worked at one job yet who didn't want you to work sick. Unless you had a Dr. saying absolutly, no way....you were stuck. If you had limits, good luck even being able to do that. You are replaceable.....and now a world signing up to give it a go.

Let the "tax revolts" begin. Our political elites think that they can continue to put into effect legislation that favors illegals over us and we will pay their salaries....................the day of reckoning will come!

The Boston tea party needs to be re-visited.
