Supervisors consider rule change

Dodge County is considering a change in its rules for providing general assistance.

Members of the Board of Supervisors are scheduled to hold a public hearing at

9:45 a.m. Wednesday on amending the guidelines to ensure those who receive general assistance are legal residents of the United States.

The hearing is part of the regular Board of Supervisors meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Dodge County Courthouse. It is open to the public.

After the hearing, board members might consider the changes.

The proposal calls for recipients to be either citizens of the United States or registered aliens or refugees lawfully admitted to the United States. The proposal also calls for the county to use E-Verify for all clients to test their eligibility for assistance.

If approved, the change would put the county in line with state law that recently went into effect. LB403 called for all persons receiving aid through the state or its subdivisions — counties and cities — as well as those companies wishing to do business with the state use the federal E-Verify database.

In a memo to county board members, County Clerk Fred Mytty also said the county’s current regulations would prevent providing aid to families where a child is a legal resident but a parent is not. In cases with minor children, the county alerts other aid providers.

So? Since when are financials required of a child? Never. So what "documents" do their illegal alien parents provide as proof of need? Are Americans afforded the same special privileges? NO!

If illegal aliens cannot get freebies for their anchors, maybe they'd stop having so many?

Americans FIRST! No, I do not consider children born to illegal aliens Americans, they are citizens of their parent's countries. They can demand handouts from those countries!
