I got my taxes done today. I've always provided my SSN but not my card. They told me that now they are requiring a Social Security Card to photocopy and not just a number in order to process my return. The lady said that "we need to make sure that people are legal." (gosh..what a great idea!)

She gave me the impression that this is a new requirement. I hope this is statewide or nationwide and not just that tax company.
