CO bill on bail for illegal immigrants up for vote

DENVER—A House committee is expected to decide the fate of a bill that would require judges to consider a person's immigration status when setting bail.

House Bill 1088 would lower the legal standard of "probable cause" to a standard of "reasonable grounds" to believe someone is in the country illegally when determining what bail should be. The House Judiciary Committee is expected to vote Tuesday whether the bill proceeds.

The bill would also require law enforcement officials to report to prosecutors a person they believe is in the country illegally, and bail bond agents would have to agree to forfeit a bond if a client is deported.

this one's a no brainer ... HOW many times have we heard this story ...

XYZ illegal immgrant who broke the law sneeking into the country is caught by the police breaking other laws in the country , they are then arrested and processed in jail , where they are released on bond ... then the trail date comes up , and guess what , no illegal immgrant ? my goodness , who would have thought that someone who lied to get into the country and gave a fake name and ID to get a job wouldn't show up for their court date ...
