Tom Tancredo was excluded from military
service because of "mental illness"

In 1970, during the Vietnam War, the US Selective Service System
classified the congressman from Colorado with a 1-Y status because of
his history of mental illness. Tancredo is a candidate for US president
and is a fanatical supporter of the Minutemen vigilantes.

During his present campaign for US president, Tancredo has
expressed certain ideas that border on the insane. Among the most
bizarre of his proposals is to drop nuclear bombs on the Islamic Holy
cities of Mecca and Medina.

The border is insane. Tancredo is trying to cure the sickness while the racists play word games and colonize this country. If Tancredo didn't serve in Nam, he's trying to serve his country now, when we need him more than ever.

So True !!!!

If a person can be excluded from service based on one's atypical eyes, ears, back, feet, etc... why should having an organic brain disorder be any different? (to exclude a person from military service)

There's nothing to be ashamed of Mr. Tancredo. Now, you've got my vote for sure.

That La Voz Aztlan website is crazy and good for a laugh,I have visited it once or twice and best as I can tell its kind of like a paranoid Latino tabloid.
As for Tom Tancredo being mentally ill, they wish.

According to what I've read, Tom was treated for depression as a teenager, reported that fact (as one is supposed to) when he went for his physical, and that's why the deferment. Nothing earth shaking there considering the high rate of depression among teenagers and it's certainly nothing career threatening because depression doesn't have the stigma it once did, and Tom has never tried to hide it either.

Perhaps those idiots over at La Voz would better be of service to their community by addressing the lead - laden candy they are feeding their children, the alarmingly high rate of mental illness being found in the Latino population, exposing the nasty little secrets of the current administration and certain other folks running for office, or better yet, those within their own "movement" who are exploiting uneducated, illiterate illegals to further their own personal agendas.

On the other hand though, if they are that desperately looking for dirt on Tom, he must be a real threat to them and they're afraid he's got a good chance to be elected.
