New Obama push meets Hill resistance

The president’s push to turn health care reform into a catalyst for the rest of his agenda is getting mixed early reactions on Capitol Hill, where Democratic leaders' desire to take advantage of healthy majorities before the November elections must contend with lawmakers’ survival instincts.

White House aides told POLITICO earlier this week that an emboldened Barack Obama plans to parlay his win on health care into a crack down on Wall Street excesses, a rewrite of education and campaign finance laws and possibly a climate change bill — all before the fall's midterms.

But aides and members, Republicans and Democrats alike, say that a Wall Street crackdown was coming — and progress on climate change, immigration and other contentious measures probably wasn't — no matter what had happened with the health care bill.

My concern is for the period between the November election and January when new members take office. The ousted Congress members will have nothing to lose and may act on an amnesty out of spite.

Then we'll repeal it when we repeal the health care reform act. But remember we have 41 Republicans in the Senate and but for McCain and Graham we could block it but unfortunately these traitors won't vote with the American People, so we need 2 good Democratic Senators to stand with the American People to block amnesty and tell Obama "stick a fork in amnesty, cuz it's done trying to ruin the USA".

We need to make 2010 count folks and get good candidates on the ballot who a) want to stop illegal immigration and b) repeal and replace Obama Care. There are many Democrats now who understand about illegal immigration and if we have just 2 or 3 Dems in the Senate who will stand with the American People we will stop these traitors from passing Amnesty.

Make every single day of 2010 count folks.

That is my worry too ReggieMay.

The only thing that may stop them is;they will be in "Holiday Mode" and on vacation for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
