New Phoenix Police Policy on Illegal Immigration Still Violates Federal Law

Regular readers of the Weekly Update will recall that Phoenix , Arizona Mayor Phil Gordon, responding to the threat of Judicial Watch litigation, reversed his position on a Phoenix sanctuary policy for illegal aliens, and assembled a panel to study the issue. This is a partial "blow" to allowing local police to identify illegal aliens.

If the police played a "fair game" and made it policy to question each and every person, then would it be fair? There are many illegals who don't just come out of Mexico, in fact from the mouths of family members the numbers in the area are increasing from other areas in the world. Legal or not? who knows but the fact remains, police should be able to identify people not just for the purposes of immigration policies.

Actually, the police do routinely question each and every person they come into contact with, for whatever reason, concerning their legal status here.

If an officer has ever had occasion to obtain your personal information....whether as a witness, reporting party, speeding ticket, etc.....think about what you are asked.

One of the questions they ask is where you were born.
