    Here's a shocker, on the front page of our town newspaper (I take it as a good thing because it's not "being hidden anymore"):

    A debate is raging in New Jersey and nationwide over the partnership between local law-enforcement agencies with U.S. Immigration and Customs. New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram hosted a press conference Aug. 22 to quell fears over the vicious Aug. 4 schoolyard slayings of three friends in Newark.

    Two of the suspects are juveniles. Jose Carranza, 28, the alleged leader, is an illegal immigrant from Peru, and was indicted twice in 2007, and granted bail on 31 counts for child rape charges and nine counts of aggravated assault charges, according to reports. Nicaraguan immigrant Rodolfo Godinez, 24, the forth suspect in the crime, is a lawful permanent resident, even though he has had multiple arrests.


    But the solution to clearing up the growing concerns of public safety and the proliferation of criminals who are also illegal immigrants still seems muddy.

    Milgram ordered local law-enforcement agencies to inquire about the immigration status of criminal suspects and notify federal authorities, whenever they think anyone arrested is in the country illegally.

    It used to be that each municipality could choose how they handled the topic.

    Stereotype? Oh please. Illegal aliens are criminals, look up illegal in a dictionary.
