Soon afterwards, Mary and Joseph were forced to flee with their infant son into Egypt to escape King Herod's soldiers, who were trying to find and kill Jesus on account of the prophecies that foretold his coming. Herod felt Jesus would pose a political threat to him. HUGE difference between murder and deportation, wouldn't you say?

    Jesus was a refugee.

He and his family were persecuted for their imputed political opinion, their ethnicity and religion, or all three. Jesus, then, would have had a lot in common with some of the asylum-seekers currently awaiting deportation in jails around the United States.

Jesus was a refugee escaping a certain death, illegal aliens are NOT refugees, nor do they qualify for asylum.
Ahh grasping at any straws they can, these OBLers again show lack of intelligence.
Interesting...I just finished watching this on the history channel; and "inns" were actually large, walled in, open air areas, according to scholars on the subject of Jesus and the Bible. They were walled in to try to keep out thieves, which is really who this writer is defending.

It was said on this documentary that Joseph and Mary would not have wanted her to experience childbirth around a bunch of gawking strangers and that is why they went to a "manger", which was probably actually a cave...which is where they kept animals a lot of times during the Biblical times.

They weren't tossed out because they weren't wanted. They chose to go to where Mary could have some privacy as she gave birth to Jesus.

Another thing I find interesting is that this writer openly states he is an atheist and then proceeds to try to beat Americans over the head with the very Bibly he professes not to believe in in the first darn place!!

Here's the passge I like to use when they try to convice me that it's un-Christian to want our laws enforced:

    Romans 13
    Submission to the Authorities

1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

God understood you can not have a country with out law and order...you end up with Mexico, and the laws must apply to everyone like it or not.

We need to know who is coming into this country and we also need a limit on who is coming into this country, tearing down what we built is only putting more people into poverty and those people are American citizens...the very people this government is suppose to protect!
