Next target: School kids of illegal alien parents.

Next target: School kids of non-citizen parents.

In addition to pondering legislation that would deny birth certificates to children born to non-citizens, state Sen. Russell Pearce and others are expected to propose that the state charge tuition for public school children whose parents aren’t citizens.

I’m not sure if these means that grammar school teachers now will have to be cross-trained as immigration agents, but it WOULD guarantee that Arizona will have two – count ‘em – TWO laws that will end up being challenged and going all the way to the Supreme Court.

The birth certificate issue and the tuition issue will have been to the Supreme Court before in one form or another – and lost – but passing legislation that challenges the U.S. Constitution and costs the state a bunch of money (and a bunch of negative publicity) turns out to be a political bonanza for every hack politician looking to win a few votes out here in the desert.

So look for a lot more.

The latest plan – charging the school kids – was outlined in a report by the Arizona Capitol Times.

I don’t believe that I’m going out on a limb here when I predict that folks in public opinion polls will LOVE it.

Who's the moron who wrote this story? It's only targeted at illegal alien kids, not non-citizen (legal immigrant) kids.

Yes this is only about children of illegals. I suspect they will try to spin this new attempt at legislation as "anti-immigrant" as opposed to anti-illegal. Here is an article from another source that clarifies the legislation to apply to children who are illegally here. The way I read it, it would not apply to children of illegals who are born here, unless birhtright citizenship is banned. It would only apply to children who are in the o****ry illegally.

    Born illegal

Arizona’s new immigration law has yet to take effect, but Sen. Russell Pearce has already moved on to the next step in his quest to rid Arizona of illegal immigrants: deny birth certificates to children born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents.

But that’s not all. Pearce said he also wants to require students who are here illegally to pay tuition to attend public schools.

The proposals, which Pearce said he plans to introduce as legislation next year, are part of a coordinated strategy by Pearce and groups such as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) to remove all incentives for illegal immigrants to live in the U.S.

I find it ironic this illegal lover would dare speak about the costs associated with passing legistation. They never talk about the costs asssociated with educating their beloved illegal brats and all the other social, welfare costs associated with them being here illegally.

At least with legislation, we get a return on money spent. In other words, it's money well spent!

Oh yes you're absolutely right, and they're going to win far more than a "few votes".

Inappropiate unconstitutional birthright citizenship has caused many problems for not just American citizens and legal immigrants but to the children of those here illegally whether they brought their kids here with them legally or their kids were born here. As a fact, it is the children who have suffered most.

The birthright citizenship must be eliminated to truly help these children. They would not be brought over here so much. This, along with all other incentives not to come here for those who think to enter our country illegally, if put into play, will help to greatly reduce illegal immigration. The end result will be less suffering for all. Especially for latinos and hispanics as their numbers are the greatest here illegally.

To just ignore a problem does not make it go away and only allows the problem to grow. Hispanics and their children are being taught to hate the very country they live in, yet they fled here for a better life. No ones wins if illegal immigration is not stopped. Especially the children.
As Aristotle said, “Tolerance and apathy are the first virtue of a dying civilization.â€

I don't want to be the a-hole here, but I say take away ALL birthright citizenships that were given away since Bush. Sorry, you might have been born here, but that does NOT make you a citizen. If you were born here to at least one illegal parent since 2000, then you have NO citizenship. You are as illegal as the parents. Time to go home WITH them.
Don't think about all the things you fear, just be glad you're here.

In addition to the obvious issue of children of illegals that are in this country already and attending school, there is the issue of non-residents that bring their children across the border for school.

There are towns on the border that have a big number of students that are dropped off from across the border from cars with Mexican plates every day. There are school bus stops at the border for the kids from Mexico to ride the bus to the American school.

Free lunch and free schooling for poeple's children that live in nother country is a riduculous burden for American tax payers. If they want to come it should not be free. JMO
