BRIDGETON - Police have charged three suspected illegal immigrants with attacking a man outside of a city bar Sunday night.

Police were called to El Rodeo Bar, located at 500 N. Pearl St., at 10:09 p.m. Sunday.

They found a 29-year-old Church Street man with a large contusion to his right cheek and a swollen-shut right eye lying on the ground just outside of the bar's north exit, Bridgeton Police Capt. Burl Kimble said.

A witness told police three men assaulted the Church Street man as he walked out of the bar.

He provided police with a description of a green minivan the men were traveling in at the time of the attack.

Police stopped the minivan on South Laurel Street, where the witness positively identified the three men as the assailants.

Tomas Martinez, 31, of South Avenue; Artemio Martinez, 28, of North Laurel Street; and Furgencio Anaya, 19, of Oak Street, were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

The witness told police Tomas Martinez exited the minivan and punched the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground, Kimble said.

The other two men then exited the vehicle and proceeded to repeatedly kick the defenseless, intoxicated victim.

Bail was set at $20,000 against all three men on the assault charge.

All three men are suspected illegal immigrants.

They will be held in Cumberland County Jail without bail on detainers issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The 29-year-old victim was taken to South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center, in Vineland, for treatment.

Police have not established a motive for the attack.

In Arizona I have pretty much figured out that they take what they want so you just might as well give it to them, because they WILL use violence.

They think they are above our laws because they come from a violent, lawless country and we have sat on our thumbs for so many years.

Time to start enforcing our laws. Eventually they will figure out we mean business. If they don't, I think they call that natural selection.
