"North Carolina" citizen arrested East Hampton, LI
This could be an hourly occurence around here. Unfortunately, this still leaves 1000's of other doing the same thing, endangering the general populace, and as yet, unarrested.
Reported in July 10 2006 Newsday:
East Hampton, NY
A man, 28, driving a 1991 Ford Explorer with North Carolina license plates was stopped by police on Three Mile Harbor Road June 2. The man told the police that he lives on Gardiners Avenue in East Hampton, but that his vehicle is registered in North Carolina and his driver's license is from Tennessee. The man's Tennessee license was expired and his New York State driver's license was suspended for driving while his senses were impaired. He was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
