North Carolina Now Officially Banana Republic?
    by S.J. Crisp

If you thought things were bad in North Carolina when illegal aliens had unfettered access to driver’s licenses, they just may have gotten considerably worse.

While you were trying to earn enough to pay the tax collector, the Democratic-led legislature was working overtime to make voting almost as easy and as quick as renting a video or getting a coffee at the drive-through.

The new law is innocuously dubbed “same-day votingâ€

I'm speechless. That's why they continue to pander to the Hispanics. They know there will be widespread voter fraud.

Then to further remove any contrived inconvenience or impediment to voting, you could have relaxed the documentation required to register to vote right down to requiring only a utility bill, bank statement, or even a welfare check with a name and North Carolina address as proof of residency.
It's horrible enough that driver's licenses are being given away like coupons to anyone whether they are illegal or not. But providing a copy of a "utility bill" as the only requirement for proof of residency in order to vote, is ABSURD! WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR LAWS AND STOP THE MADNESS!

North Carolina Now Officially A Banana Republic

This makes me ashamed to be a native citizen of North Carolina as it should all citizen of this state who are against illegal immigration. What is our State and Country coming to? One thing for certain, the people we elect in public office are not there to represent what is in the best interest for American Citizens. Be it either at the local, state and federal level we the True Citizens are the ones getting the shaft. Only GOD knows how this is going to end. But if you ask me it is not going to end for the best when our government is CORRUPT AT ALL LEVELS. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

This is the letter I got back from my rep, Grier Martin, on this
topic. I think the problem is we have to wait 4-5 years for all
the bogus NCDLs out there to expire.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Screw-Over NC Citizen:

Thank you for your email and sharing your concerns with me. In 2004, we
took several steps to strengthen the security of NC driver's licenses.
The DMV stopped accepting foreign documents for proof of identity except
for valid, unexpired passports with a valid, unexpired visa. We took
further steps to resist tampering, counterfeiting or theft of materials
for license production by adding an optical variable device on the face
of the license. In the past year, North Carolina has approved two new
laws to try to reduce the number of illegal immigrants on our roads and
to punish drunken drivers. HB 1048 "Drivers License Change - No
Individual Taxpayer Identification Number" eliminates the option of
providing an individual taxpayer identification card issued by the IRS
and consequently, requires all applicants for a learner's permit or
driver's license to provide a valid Social Security number, with the
exception of persons who are lawfully present in the United States under
a valid visa of limited duration. In addition, this law requires a
driver's license issued to a person on a limited time visa to expire no
later than the expiration of the applicant's visa. Further, on May 23,
2006 the Governor signed into law SB 1026 which requires applicants to
document their legal presence in the United States based on documents
issued by federal agencies allowing them to be in the US. Since 2006,
the Division of Motor Vehicles no longer accepts ITINs for customers
obtaining an original or renewal driver license or ID card.

Future initiatives on the horizon include implementation of on-line
verification with the SAVE database maintained by the US Department of
Homeland Security for immigration status (hopefully to be implemented by
the middle of 200 and the implementation of central issuance of driver
licenses in the summer of 2008. Instead of receiving the driver license
or ID card at the time of application, the customer will provide
documentation of their identity and residency in the field office
allowing time to research possible fraud cases. In the late 2008 and
early 2009, the DMV will implement scanning of all customer documents.
This will allow for more verification and provide an audit trail. The
DMV is working on several changes to the drivers license issuance
process, including taking the customer's picture at the beginning
instead of the end to ensure that the person who applies for the license
and takes the test is the person on the license. This will be
    implemented in about two years.

These recent changes address many concerns, but while I am pleased at
the effort so far, I'm sure you agree that more work needs to be done. I
look forward to continuing to make progress in this important area.

Please continue to share with me issues that are important to you.

A utility bill? That is unfair, discriminatory, and unconstitutional!

Why should only the home owner get to vote? What about the other 39 undocumented workers living in the house?
One man's terrorist is another man's undocumented worker.

Unless we enforce laws against illegal aliens today,
tomorrow WE may wake up as illegals.

The last word: illegal aliens are ILLEGAL!
