Governor Calls On Obama To Enforce Immigration Laws


Governor Jim Gibbons has called on President Obama and his administration to enforce federal immigration laws now on the books. Gibbons accused the White House of not guarding the U.S. border, claiming federal inaction has compelled states such as Arizona to take action and force quote, "state taxpayers to foot the bill." Gibbons also accused Obama, Nevada Senator Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of quote, "shamelessly pandering" the immigration issue quote, "for political gain." The governor says there are people crossing the border he claims are quote, "committing violent crimes" while others quote, "want to harm America through terrorism." Gibbons told reporters Monday he believes Arizona's controversial new immigration law seems to encourage racial profiling, which he says is wrong. The governor would not say whether he supports a proposed bill making it illegal for Nevada employers to hire undocumented workers.

It is good to hear he is asking for enforcement of our current laws. We need more of that, and calling out the Dems on their pandering too.

i wish more governor's like you would come out and say the same thing.

I wish he would also say he supports E-Verify laws so that American jobs go to American citizens.

Just look at what happened with the AZ market - they found 300 illegal aliens working at the store and ICE moved in and they were arrested, and then hundreds of American citizens lined up for the jobs.

Does he not think that is happening all over NV?

How many jobs in NV are going to people who aren't even legally in the country?
