WEST TEXAS - A busy couple of days for Border Patrol agents in West Texas seizing almost 1,300 pounds of pot and eight illegal immigrants in three separate arrests.

The first bust happened just after midnight on Wednesday when a canine alerted agents that there were people or drugs in a semi at the Sierra Blanca Checkpoint.

After searching the trailer, agents found 23 bundles of marijuana worth more than half a million dollars.

The driver and passenger were arrested.

Two hours later, an agent spotted some suspicious activity inside a pick-up just outside of Marathon.

In that truck, Border Patrol agents found five sacks full of pot, that's more than 200-thousand dollars worth.

Five people, two from Midland, and three illegal immigrants were arrested.

The next day, a Border Agent following tracks near the Marathon check-point caught up to five other illegal immigrants carrying almost 350 pounds of marijuana in sugar shacks.

Everything and everyone was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency.
