TX-Perry optimistic on fed immigration enforcement
Perry optimistic on fed immigration enforcement
May 3, 2010, 7:41PM
DALLAS — Gov. Rick Perry is praising the results of his immigration enforcement talks with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
That's after a steady drumbeat of criticism from Perry about the federal approach toward those enforcement needs and fears that Mexico's drug-related violence might spill into the United States.
According to The Dallas Morning News, Perry told a Washington, D.C., round-table of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Monday that he has "a real good feeling" after his meeting with Napolitano, a former Arizona governor.
Perry says that Napolitano, as a former border governor, "gets it." He says, "The border can be secured. It takes boots on the ground. It requires technology."
Perry has appealed to the federal government for unmanned drone aircraft and National Guard troops to patrol the border.

Rick Perry's stance on illegal alien trespassers, is the same as the guy he took over from.
He panders to the illegals and has for more than 9 years.Travis and Crockett, are flopping in their graves

He comes up for election this year doesn't he?
We cannot have homeland security without border security. Under Gov. Perry, Texas has been a leader on border security while the federal government has faltered. Under his leadership, Texas has put more boots on the ground, more technology to use, and more targeted operations to dramatically reduce all crime along the border.
Surge Operations.
Transnational Gang Initiative.

Napolitano gets it alright..she is just walking in lockstep with the OBL crowd. Plus, she's just an incompetent fool. Perry just pisses me off. He knows damn well what needs to be done and the fed calvary isn't coming to the rescue. States are on their own. Period. The sooner everyone figures this out the better. I will predict here and now that we will see growing violence all over the country from the illegal aliens and the OBL crowd. As one police chief in Maryland? proclaimed... "We can no longer protect our citizens so they should "arm themselves"...

If Napolitano agrees to any real enforcement, it will only be to try make amnesty palatable. This is why she has no credibility on this issue.
