Two East Naples men were arrested Tuesday, after Collier County served search warrants on two suspected gambling operations.

Reports say an undercover deputy was able to place bets with Luis Cruz, 18, earlier this year on a game called bolita, bolito or borlette, which is a numbers game played for money. As a result, deputies were able to obtain search warrants for the apartment Cruz and Luigi Reyes, 19, share and a second apartment at 1842 40th Terrace S.W., Unit 4, Golden Gate.

According to reports, deputies found Cruz and Reyes at the Golden Gate address when they served the warrant Tuesday. Deputies seized gambling receipts, a book containing the winning numbers and approximately $7,047.

When they served the second warrant on Marino Circle they seized several hundred gambling receipts, a fax machine, a calculator and $7,100.

Cruz and Reyes, both of 9320 Marino Circle Unit 202, East Naples, were charged with keeping a gambling house and operating a lottery.

In addition, Luis Manuel Reyes, 23, a third person deputies say was involved in the operation was located and arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
