TARRYTOWN - An off-duty Greenburgh paramedic's car was rear-ended tonight by a driver police said was drunk, causing his vehicle to bounce forward almost 65 feet.

"You can still see his blinkers on," Tarrytown Sgt. Geno Bonanno at the scene, pointing to the paramedic's green Honda civic. "He was stopped at a light and this other vehicle crashed into him."

According to police, the paramedic, whose name has not been released, was stopped at a light on South Broadway getting ready to turn left onto Benedict Avenue. That was when a red Acura Integra driven by Louis Quizhpe of Sleepy Hollow crashed into him.

"You can tell how fast he was going by how far this car (the Honda) moved forward," Bonanno said.

Quizhpe, 39, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and a felony count of second-degree vehicular assault. But police said they were not certain of his identity.

"The New York State identification card he had was phony," Bonanno said. "He told us he paid for it somewhere so we're going to look into that. He also had an immigration status card that he said he paid for too. The only thing that seemed to be valid was a check cashing card from a bank with his name on it."

The paramedic was rushed to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for back and neck injuries but they did not appear to be life threatening at the scene.
