Oaxacans Worry About Candidates' Interest in Immigration Reform

Editor's Note: Many Latino voters are worried because neither Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama nor Republican presidential candidate Johm McCain have in recent weeks offered any substantive talk on immigration, a subject that is on the minds of Latinos. This article is part of a New America Media project sponsored by the Ford Foundation to increase the online presence of ethnic media.
LOS ANGELES — Latinos will no doubt play a key role in choosing the next president, with more than 10 million expected to vote at the national level — the highest total in U.S. history. That’s enough to make Latinos a key “swingâ€Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn

Everything about this article makes me ill. The ford foundation is determined to create more divisiviness by promoting "ethnic on-line media!" When they say 'ethnic,' they mean hispanic!
I guess they need their own "media presence" specifically now to promote their demands for amnesty.

all the noise and attention that accompanied the giant protests against severe new rules on immigration two years ago have yielded nothing new.
Did they really think that marching and waving Mexican flags would accomplish what they wanted? Did they really think they had that much power?
SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cano also indicates that any perceived weakness the Obama campaign showed in the primary elections, when Hillary Clinton ran stronger among Latinos, won’t be a worry in the general election."Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. Do these Oaxacans really think if Obama is elected as the first black President he will give them anything they want over first addressing needs and help to African American citizens who have been here for centuries? I THINK NOT. The African American community may not be as organized as the demanding Latinos but with the first President of their race they will get that way fast. And who cares what Oaxacans think because Oaxaca is in Mexico, not the United States. Obama will HAVE to secure the border. America demands it.
