Obama Admin. demands more refugee funding -- including to resettle border surgers -- in short-term spending bill. Tell GOP Leaders to reject!

Dear friends,
We need your urgent phone calls today! The Obama Administration has submitted its wish list for the upcoming, short-term spending bill, and it includes a DOUBLING of refugee funding. The increase wouldn't only fund the extra refugees that Pres. Obama wants to bring to the United States, but it would also be used to help house and resettle the thousands of aliens who have illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in recent months and have been allowed by the Administration to claim asylum even though most don't qualify under existing law.
The Obama Administration created this massive, ongoing wave of illegal immigration flooding across the Southern border, and now they're asking Congress to bail them out in their final weeks!
We've also learned that pro-H-2B advocates are pushing GOP Leaders to add a provision to the spending bill that would exempt returning workers from the annual caps, potentially quadrupling the number of H-2B foreign workers in the country for 2017. This is the same provision that Congress included in last year's December spending bill that generated so much outrage.
During last month's election, voters delivered a clear message to the Washington status-quo. Voters chose Donald Trump because of his commitment to control the border, rein in the runaway refugee program, and protect American workers by reducing the number of foreign workers entering the country each year. Isn't it time for Congress to start listening to the voters?
Call GOP Leadership
HERE'S A LIST OF CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS AND THE CHIEF APPROPRIATORS:
HOUSE SPEAKER PAUL RYAN -- (202) 225-0600

HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER KEVIN McCARTHY -- (202) 225-4000

HOUSE MAJORITY WHIP STEVE SCALISE -- (202) 225-0197

HOUSE GOP CONFERENCE CHAIR McMORRIS RODGERS -- (202) 225-5107

HOUSE APPROPS. CHAIR HAL ROGERS -- (202) 225-4601

SEN. MAJORITY LEADER MITCH McCONNELL -- (202) 224-3135

SEN. MAJORITY WHIP JOHN CORNYN -- (202) 224-2708

SENATE GOP CONFERENCE CHAIR JOHN THUNE -- (202) 224-2764

SEN. APPROPS. CHAIR THAD COCHRAN -- (202) 224-5054
Please call EVERYONE on the above list! And when you've finished, you can also call your own Members of Congress using the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
When the staffer answers, tell them that you want Congress to reject the White House's demand for increased refugee funding to support and resettle recent illegal border crossers and to reject increases to the H-2B low-skilled visa program. You can use the following talking points in your conversation:
I urge Leadership to oppose any funding increases to the refugee program in the upcoming continuing resolution. The Obama Administration created the situation along the U.S.-Mexico border, and Congress shouldn't bail them out for their mishandling of the border. I also urge you to block any efforts to exempt returning workers from the H-2B caps in the upcoming spending bill. If there's one thing we learned from Donald Trump's win, it's that the American people want the federal government to take care of American workers first!
