WASHINGTON // While many Americans are turning to Barack Obama to engineer a massive economic recovery and draw up a new strategy for two foreign wars, others will look to the president-elect to fulfil a promise he made during his campaign: to take on the contentious issue of immigration reform.
From his protracted primary battle with Hillary Clinton to the presidential race with John McCain, Mr Obama assured audiences he would work to solve a policy riddle that has puzzled politicians for nearly three decades.
“I think it’s time for a president who won’t walk away from something as important as comprehensive [immigration] reform just because it becomes politically unpopular,â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

This is going to take a filibuster effort on our part. We've got--what--35 Senate votes in the bag. We need to get busy on the fence sitters both Republican and Democratic. We can do it. Let's focus our efforts on those guys.

I'd like to see a POTUS who has the cajones to ENFORCE THE LAWS that have been largely ignored for the last 20 plus years! Is there such a person?
There is nothing wrong with the immigration law we now have, what's wrong is that illegal aliens and their enablers continue to disrespect, disregard, and break them! Well, I think it's time to pay the piper!
Obama, do you have what it takes to do the job?? Americans are depending on you. No more welcome for illegal aliens, we should only welcome those who ABIDE by our laws!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

How many times do the American people have to send the same message to this arrogant, self-serving Congress? NO AMNESTY All they want out of it is future votes to keep their sorry excuses for Congressmen in office. Here's a flash: they will not vote for you. They will put their own candidate in office, if they bother to vote at all. Remember, most of the ones you are so anxious to give a free pass to citizenship are illiterate. The aruement that legal residents of this country are prejudice & immigrant bashers is an insulting & stupid one. We are all decendents of immigrants in this country. The difference is one word: LEGAL. How many other laws will these people break. We already have an influx of gangs, as well as other criminals. The cost to the taxpayer in healthcare, Wefare benefits, etc. is overwhelming. Why are they receiving publicly- funded benefits anyway?? Is checking on one's citizenship status a no-no? We have to tolerate America bashing & flag disrespect on top of it all. ENOUGH. WAKE UP AMERICA. WE ARE LOSING OUR COUNTRY
