Thread: Obama to push for higher Soc. Sec. Taxes

I am so disgusted with our politicians; it seems like one assault after another on law abiding Americans. There is something like $200 Billion every year that goes uncollected from tax cheaters, dodgers and scofflaws. This would alleviate any deficits we have and secure the future of the Social Security System. Yet they continue debating the problem in Congress and come up with more risky or lunatic ideas.

Has anyone besides me ever wondered how politicians that steal billions from the social security system every year can keep a straight face when complaining about Americans who want to protect that nasty entitlement program? Workers, not the rich or the "government workers", pay into the system 30 to 50 years and believe they are entitled to get a payoff from what was taken from them.

Has anyone ever wondered how, if the system is broke, there is enough to provide social security for all the illegals they want added to the system? They don't have to meet the requirements the Americans do, but then why should they? After all, they aren't Americans. Oh, and let's not forget the blending of our Social Security system with all those countries GWB has made deals with while Congress carefully looks the other way.

While all this goes on, they complain that all those baby boomers that have paid in for the past 40 to 45 years are going to be too much of a drain on the system. Maybe all politicians are deaf or don't really speak English and therefore can't understand the words coming out of their mouths?

Gee Obama, why don't we raise combined Social Security and Medicare taxes from the current 16% to 50%, and raise combined state and federal income taxes to 50%, then the government will have all our money and can solve all our problems, right?

Oh wait, that was tried once and it didn't work. It was called Communism.
