U.S. Border Patrol Seizes More than 8 Tons of Marijuana in a Week

Edinburg, Texas — U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized more than 8 tons of marijuana in seven days.

From March 5 through March 11, Border Patrol agents made multiple marijuana seizures valued at more than $13.5 million. The seizures occurred across the Rio Grande Valley from Brownsville to Rio Grande City and north to the Falfurrias and Kingsville Border Patrol checkpoints and were unrelated.
