Off-duty LAX customs supervisor arrested at border

An off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection supervisor who works at Los Angeles International Airport was arrested a week ago in a parking lot at the San Ysidro Port of Entry after police said he allegedly assaulted a driver, kicked his vehicle and yelled ethnic slurs at several men.

Jose Luis Fajardo, 44, was booked into jail on suspicion of making terrorist threats, battery and vandalism, San Diego police Lt. Andra Brown said Friday.

According to the police report, Fajardo had parked his private vehicle at a lot at 700 San Ysidro Blvd. from about 1 p.m. on Nov. 4 until about 4 p.m. the following day. He was in line to pay at the kiosk last Friday when he became angry about the $28 fee.
